We’re a small town, family-owned business!

Ohio Stoneware was founded in 2005 on the aspirations of two young entrepreneurs with a generational history in retail pottery. Owners Ross & Tiffany Pattison were able to secure the purchase of equipment from Robinson Ransbottom Pottery and the building from Zanesville Stoneware and that was the start of Ohio Stoneware. With one building and two employees outside of family Ohio Stoneware became a reality. In 2008 Ohio Stoneware purchased the assets of Buckeye Stoneware adding equipment & new shapes to their product offering as well as five more dedicated employees. As the business grew, they needed more room and in 2015 added a second location that they moved their offices and warehouse to. Once again as the business was busting at the seams, in 2018 they purchased a third building. That purchase included the assets of Hartstone Pottery as well as a retail location. Hartstone Pottery was well known for their hand decorated line of dinnerware and the historic building built in the 1850’s is rich in history once housing J.B. Owens Pottery and being the site of the largest FBI bust during prohibition for alcohol distribution (bootlegging).
Today, Ohio Stoneware operates as both a wholesale and retail business, selling to large and small retailers across the U.S. and Canada. We invite the public to shop with us in our retail store and enjoy our extra activities such as group tours, paint your own pottery, and our hot chocolate make & take.
Whether you purchase an Ohio Stoneware item directly from us or from one of our retailers you can have confidence you are purchasing stoneware meant to be a family heirloom for many generations!
